Virginia gambling income report: February's handle was 26% higher than the previous year

Virginians wagered $545.1m in February, up by 25.6% from 2023. Sportsbooks paid $6.3m in taxes, with a 9.18% hold.

Mobile betting dominated with $540m, while four new operators launched in 2023. Promotional deductions decreased, with a proposed sunset on such deductions.

January saw higher tax payments and handle compared to February. North Carolina entry looms, with operators launching before March Madness.
