Virginia legislators vote to unban skill gambling

Virginia lawmakers reversed course and not only repealed the state's ban on gray skill machines, but also regulated the industry within the state, less than five years after the ban was passed.

The Virginia Lottery will commission game testing labs to evaluate and approve the machines as part of the bill.

Local communities can decide whether or not they want these machines in their area by holding a referendum.
 
I feel The move is expected to bring in millions of dollars in revenue for the state, as well as creating new jobs in the gambling industry. However, some critics have raised concerns about the potential for increased gambling addiction and the social costs that could result.
