Virginia skill games illegal again after Supreme Court ruling

After a lower circuit court's decision was overruled by the state's highest court on Friday, skill games in Virginia are once again prohibited.

Legislators in Virginia temporarily legalized the contentious gaming devices, which resemble classic slot machines inside the state's regulated casinos in terms of appearance, sound, and functionality. The requirement that a player tap on a winning payline distinguishes the games. A slot machine reminiscent of Las Vegas, such as those at Caesars Virginia, Hard Rock Bristol, and Rivers Casino Portsmouth, instantly notifies the player whether the spin was successful and credits their bankroll.
