Virginia sportsbooks report fourth straight month of double-digit holds

July marked the fourth consecutive month that sports bettors in Virginia had double-digit holds, according to a Friday report from the Virginia Lottery. $377.6 million was wagered by bettors, a 28.6% increase from July of last year.

Virginia levies a 15% tax on operators, and the state withholds sportsbook or player information. It was reported by the regulator that ten operators had positive monthly annual general revenue. The biggest online operators in Virginia are all available, including BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, Fanatic Sportsbook, and FanDuel.
