Manchester United hero Wayne Rooney suspects Liverpool could still finish in the top four despite their miserable campaign so far.
The Reds have endured a rotten season under Jurgen Klopp this term. Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to former title rivals Manchester City left them eighth in the table, seven points behind Tottenham in the race for a Champions League place.
With just 11 games of the season remaining, it now seems highly likely that the Merseysiders will finish out of the top four for the first time since the 2015/16 campaign. Despite that, Rooney is backing Liverpool to somehow drag themselves back into contention and edge out Spurs and Newcastle.
