West Virginia House Committe approves Responsible Gaming Research Act

The House Judiciary Committee has approved the West Virginia Responsible Gaming and Research Act.

West Virginia casinos and sports bettors are required by the Responsible Gaming and Research Act to give anonymized data to West Virginia University. To analyze the data, the university will work with the Department of Human Services of the State Lottery Commission. The goal of this collaboration is to improve knowledge about addictive and problematic gambling behaviors. This will support the creation of laws in the future that encourage safer gaming practices.
