There are so many ways people screw things up when they roll up to a craps table. The first thing ya gotta know is only bet what you can stand to lose, for real. Don't go maxing out credit cards and taking out loans just to play some dice. Set a budget and stick to it, or the only thing you'll win is a world of debt!

Most folks also fail to spread out their bets. But you gotta think long game, not gamble all-in on one roll. Throw down on the pass line, come, don't come, the field—cover all your bases. That way even if a few bets lose, the others might come through. Win some, lose some, right?

Take advantage of any bonuses or comps the casino's offering too. Free money's free money, so load up on those chips however you can. Just keep the promo play separate from your real bankroll. Don't blow it all in one spot!

And take regular breaks if you start to feel tilted. Get up, walk around, grab a snack or cig. Nothing good happens when you're staring at the table 24/7. Give your mind a break so you can get perspective.

Lots of players don't even understand the odds or payouts. Don't let the come out roll go by without crunching the numbers to make sure pass line really is your best bet. And never assume, ya know? Check the payouts each roll.

Don't get drunk at the table either! A tipple or two's ok to loosen the mood, but one too many Manhattans means bad bets. Pace yourself to stay in control.

Know when to walk away too. Down more money than you came with? Fees piling up faster than chips? Game's not fun anymore? Than bail, there's always another day! Some people get so engrossed they end up losing rent money before realizing how deep they're in.

Cashing out winnings along the way is smart too. Hit certain win milestones? Put some or all of it in your pocket. What's won is won, the table could take it all back on the next roll.

Play craps smart and you'll have fun win or lose. But mistakes like overspending, not managing your emotions, and not understanding the odds? That's how folks end up losing shirts at the tables. Pace yourself, set a budget, take breaks—now get out there and roll the bones! Good luck!

Getting drunk at the table is worst thing that will happen to a player or a gambler. When drunk, a player don't think right and can't make a rational decision. When you feel intoxicated, just leave the table and find where to sleep. Most great loses in playing craps is done by people who are semi drunk.

You can choose to take odds, a separate wager with no house advantage, if you place a Pass Line or Don't Pass Line wager. When odds are offered, passing them up lowers your chance of winning.
