What are some common mistakes players make when switching to 6-handed?

When new players transition to larger table games like 6-handed, I find they oft make some beginner's blunders.
Thinking more players equates to more action, they call bets too lightheartedly, not realizing how much more their chips can evaporate in a bigger pot.
They fail to adjust position and overlook the added reads, looks and semibluffs afforded by more participants.
An expandased board brings more possibilities but requires patience; slow-playing an underpair can become a winner due to extra outs. Though more chaos reigns, smart strategy prevails.
Good position retains importance; bad position means fewer options and greater liability. The ideal 6-handed player melds caution with daring, sensing when to gamble and when to fold with precision. With experience, their win rate will surely elevate.

Nearly doubling the players necessitates far more than simply emulating how you play 2 or 4-handed. Translate principles, don't perpetuate them. New rules apply at the bigger table - rules that distinguish the pros from the amateurs.
