Some folks can't win honestly, so they cheat. Here are the lowdown dirty ways cheaters try to get over in poker:
•Marking cards. Cheaters use invisible ink or devices to secretly mark cards and know what's what before it's shown.
•Stacked decks. Pre-arranged decks are brought to the table with cards that favor the cheater or their partners in crime.
•Working together as "team." Signal each other or coordinate play to go up against suckers who think it's one-on-one.
•Using devices to see cards down or transmit info. Glasses or chips with hidden tech that let cheaters gain an advantage.
•Dealing seconds. When dealing, the cheat gets cards off the bottom for themselves so they're holding the nuts.
•Dumping chips to teammates. Losing on purpose by folding good hands or playing terrible to give winnings to a partner to build their stack.
•Switching or palming cards. Good hands become better or trash turns to gold by manually replacing cards when no one's watching close enough.
•Past posting. After important cards are shown or others react, late bets are made to make garbage hands look like the nuts or force people out of good pots.
If you're gonna cheat, at least be slick about it. But with all the security nowadays, odds are cheaters will get caught. And honest players don't want them at the table anyway. Some people just can't win fair.
