I think concept that builds automatic standing hands is the idea of playing based on the dealer's up-card. If the dealer has a weak up-card, such as a 2 or 3, they are more likely to bust, and therefore the player should be more conservative with their hand. In contrast, if the dealer has a strong up-card, such as a 10 or an Ace, the player may need to take more risks to try and improve their hand.
