What are the different poker betting options?

Bet: To place a bet, a player must add chips to the pot. In no-limit and pot-limit games, the amount of the wager can range from a predefined fixed sum (in fixed-limit games) to any amount up to and including the total number of players' chips.

Raise: After a wager has been placed, a different player may decide to increase it by putting in more chips.

This is known as a raise. The amount of the raise in no-limit and pot-limit games is only limited by the number of chips a player has in front of them and the previous bet or raise. In fixed-limit games, the raise is determined by the predefined limit of the betting round.

Call: To stay in the game, a player can match the current bet by putting in the same number of chips. This action is known as a call. In no-limit and pot-limit games, a player may also choose to call a bet that exceeds their remaining chip stack by going all-in.

Fold: A player who doesn't like their hand can choose to fold, forfeiting their chips and sitting out the rest of the hand.

All-In: This is when a player puts all of their remaining chips at stake. In this case, the player is still considered to be in the game, and the remaining chips from other players that are covering the all-in bet will be put in a side pot. If the all-in player ends up having the best hand, they can win the main pot and any side pots that they're in. If they don't have the best hand, they're eliminated from the game.
