Betting on team sports and individual sports involves different dynamics and considerations. Here are some key differences between the two:

Number of Participants: In team sports, multiple individuals compete together as part of a team, whereas in individual sports, the focus is on a single athlete. This distinction affects the complexity of analyzing performance and making predictions.

Team Performance vs. Individual Performance: When betting on team sports, you typically evaluate the overall performance of the team, taking into account factors such as team chemistry, strategy, and coordination among team members. In contrast, in individual sports, the primary focus is on the performance of a single athlete, including their skill level, form, fitness, and mental state.

Given that a person betting on individual sports would have to evaluate the performance of only a single sports person, I think it is better to take this option. An individual betting on team sports would however have to assess the performance of many different sportspeople, thus making the task more difficult.

I actually think betting on individual sports is easier because you would place your bets strictly on the strength of the individual player. Like you can always win 90% of the times knowing that Nadal can always win against a 20th seeded tennis player because Nadal is head and shoulders above that player. Is it easy to say the same thing in a soccer match between Brazil and Saudi Arabia? It is a 60-40 chance of Brazil winning even though they are better on paper. One player from Brazil can just let them down and make them to lose.
