Baccarat is quite different from games like Blackjack and Poker in several key ways:
1. Gameplay: In Baccarat, the players don't make any decisions after the initial bet on either the Player hand or the Banker hand. The cards are dealt according to strict rules. In Blackjack and Poker, players make decisions on hitting, standing, doubling down, folding, raising, etc.
2. Objective: The objective in Baccarat is to predict which hand (Player or Banker) will have a total closer to 9. In Blackjack, players try to beat the dealer's hand without going over 21. In Poker, players make the best 5-card hand from their cards and community cards.
3. Cards Used: Baccarat uses a standard 52-card deck, but cards are valued differently (2-9 at face value, 10s and face cards are 0, Aces are 1). Blackjack uses standard 52-card deck values. Poker uses standard 52-card deck rankings.
4. Player vs Player: Baccarat has no player vs player action; each is betting on the outcome of the Player or Banker hands. Blackjack is player vs dealer. Poker is player vs player.
5. Edge: Baccarat has a very low house edge (around 1%) on Player and Banker bets. Blackjack edge depends on rules but is usually under 1% with perfect play. Poker's edge depends on skill level versus opponents.
So while all three use standard decks, Baccarat stands out as a simple guessing game with no real player decisions once bets are placed.
