I think baccarat tournaments differ from regular gameplay in that they offer a competitive environment, a fixed buy-in, and a timed format, requiring players to adapt their strategy to maximize chip accumulation and survival. Tournaments demand more aggressive betting and strategic adjustments to succeed, unlike regular gameplay which focuses on individual betting and bankroll management.

Players can keep playing as long as they have chips in standard baccarat; there is no elimination feature. However, players may be eliminated from tournaments based on the number of chips they have, which increases the pressure and level of competition.
