Hey y'all, wanted to share the rules for that simple but fun casino card game, war! War is seriously one of the easiest games to pick up, with complex strategy. Basically, you're just trying to get a higher ranking hand than the dealer using a single card.

Each player puts in an ante bet to get involved in the hand. You're each dealt one card face up. Then you compare your card to the dealer's card to see who has higher rank. Face cards are jack, queen, king and ace. Aces rank the highest, then kings, queens, jacks, 10s all the way down to 2s as the lowest.

If you have a higher rank than the dealer, you win even money on your ante bet! If you tie, you just get more cards until someone wins. And if the dealer gets higher, you lose your ante bet.

You can also make a split bet if you and the dealer both get the same rank card. Split bets double your winnings and losses.

After each hand, the cards get collected and shuffled for a new deal. You can decide to "stand" on your hand to just collect your winnings, or "go to war" by doubling or tripling your bet for more cards until there's a winner. Going to war means lots more action for big potentials wins!

Some other terms you'll hear - "push" means a tie, "spoof" is getting a joker (highest rank), and "bonus" is a joker tie. The specific rules can vary between casinos on those situations though.

No counting cards or strategies needed here - it's really just luck. But you can decide how much to bet based on what you and the dealer are showing.

The first player to win 3, 5 or 7 hands, depending on the rules, takes the pot. Otherwise, the player who wins the most hands at the end of the deal wins.

Only bet what you can afford to lose since the house always has the advantage. But with little house edge, war can be a fun, low-risk game with a chance at some big payouts if you get lucky!
