In the past, Betis had trouble in the first game following lengthy vacations.
Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, is in excellent shape. They have been playing at a high level in La Liga, being a very competitive club that is tough to beat, powerful defensively, and dangerous up forward. While Betis will be playing in their first official match because they didn't compete in that round of the Cup, they put on excellent performances in the friendlies during the World Cup, winning all of them.
Athletic's preparation was considerably better than Betis' because they only lost a small number of players during the World Cup (including the goalkeeper), making it difficult for the coach to conduct regular training sessions and be ready.
