I think one major thing that could actually reduce the passion of a gambler is actually the losses , when the losses are actually becoming too much and others , then gambler would actually continue to have less passion in the way they are gambling , so one thing that reduce the passion is more loss

Many losses on the bounce can definitely dampen my spirits and go as far as to reduce my passion for the casino games that I am playing. This often leads to me quitting the casino game at that point

Since I'm not gaining more money from other place, i have no choice but to continue gambling. Maybe if i get a better work and it's paying well and taking my time, my passion for gambling will reduce

I can empathize with your point. Most at times, individuals use gambling to make ends meet, so when a respectable occupation comes along with a more sustainable income structure, they will prioritize that over gambling
