In blackjack, "coloring up" means exchanging small-denomination chips for larger ones. When you have a lot of chips in front of you, especially lower denomination chips, and you want to cash out, you can request a "color up" from the dealer. The dealer will exchange your smaller chips for larger ones so that you can carry them more easily and cash them out more quickly. This is a courteous and efficient way to end your session at the blackjack table. It's also a good idea to tip the dealer when you color up.
