What does it mean when blackjack pays 3 to 2?

There was a time I was sitting closer to the blackjack table in the game house. You guys eating closer to me was talking about how is going to hit on the 3 to 2 ratio with the game he wants to play in order to win Big.

One of the questions I have in mind to ask you guys is that What does it mean when blackjack pays 3 to 2? I will be glad if anyone here can explain this out for me in layman terms.

Somewhere on the blackjack table there will be a sign that says, "blackjack pays 3 to 2". All this means is that you, the player, will get $3 for every $2 you wager.
