Offsetting in betting is the practice of placing a bet on the opposite side of the same event. This is done in order to minimize losses or profits, depending on the outcome of the event. Offsetting is often used by experienced bettors to reduce the risk of losing large sums of money. For example, if a bettor is considering a bet on a football match, they may place a bet on the favourite team to win and also place a bet on the opposing team to win so that if the favourite team does not win, the bettor will still make a profit.

Well, this is also called arbitration, right? I think that this is prohibited in certain bookmakers if they realize the practice, a good way to do arbitrage would be if you do it in physical machines since it is more anonymous.

You are right. Offsetting is similar to arbitrage betting, and even matched betting to an extent. You need to be very clever so as not to raise suspicion when you are attempting to implement this strategy online

Exactly, since online everything is more reviewable, that's why I said that it is better to do it offline since the chances of being discovered are much lower, if you do it online you may be banned for allegedly violating the rules

This is actually true. Even though offline betting would defeat the purpose of matched betting because of the inevitable absence of free bets, I believe that offsetting and arbitrage betting could still work wonders
