Any wagers on the outcome are often void if a match is called off by the referee, unless a competent authority issues a ruling on the match's conclusive outcome. If the outcome of a wager was already known when the game was abandoned, this rule does not apply. For instance, if the game was halted in the 61st minute, a wager on the score at the end of the first half is 100 percent legal.

You are absolutely correct because if you wager on first-half and the match has exceeded the first half before it was called off, the betting is valid and as such, you will still receive the outcome if you won.
