In poker, a "check" is a move that a player can make when it is their turn to act and they do not want to make a bet or raise. It allows the player to stay in the game without adding more money to the pot. A check can only be made if no bets have been made in the current round, or if the player has already called any bets that were made. If all players check, the round ends without any additional money being added to the pot. The next round of betting will begin with the player to the left of the dealer.

When it is your turn to act in poker, a check is a betting move when you decide not to bet or raise. Checking is often only a possibility if the current street has not seen any betting in that particular round.
