A fold in poker refers to the act of a player choosing not to continue in the current hand and surrendering their cards and any interest in the pot.

This can happen when a player feels their hand is not strong enough to compete with the other players or if they are trying to conserve chips in a tournament. When a player folds, they are no longer eligible to win the current pot and must wait for the next hand to be dealt.

A fold is an option in poker where players can decline to bet when their hand is not favourable for them to stand a chance of winning. Aggressive players do not like to use this option, but it can be necessary sometimes

When a player doesn't have a hand strong enough to continue the game, one of their options is to fold, also known as folding their cards. When you fold, you return the cards dealt by the dealer to their face-down position on the table. When you fold your hand at poker, you stop playing the hand and put down your cards. When it is your turn to perform in the play, a fold can occur at any time. When you fold in poker, you lose that hand. You won't be able to withdraw money from the pot or make any further contributions for that hand.

You are absolutely correct. It is a situation where you have exited the game temporarily because you do not have confidence in the cards that you have been dealt to win you the round, which is fair enough
