In poker, a kill pot refers to a hand in which the stakes of the game are doubled from their usual amount. This is usually initiated by a player who wins two consecutive pots. The purpose of a kill pot is to increase the stakes and stimulate more aggressive play. Posting overblinds in order to raise the limit of a hand to stimulate play is called a kill pot.
In a full kill game, the amount of the big blind is doubled, and in addition to that, all betting limits are also doubled. In a half kill game, only the betting limits are doubled. A full kill is typically used in higher limit games, while a half kill is more common in lower limit games. It's worth noting that the rules for kill pots can vary depending on the specific poker game being played, and not all poker games use a kill pot rule.

A kill pot is activated when a specific need has been satisfied, which is typically when a player wins two straight hands. When this occurs, the game's stakes are momentarily raised for the next hand or a set number of hands.
