A sleeper straddle in poker is a type of straddle bet that can be made from any position by any player. It is known as a "sleeper" straddle because it is not announced before the cards are dealt, and is therefore not live until the action gets to the straddler. The straddle amount in a sleeper straddle can be for any amount and can be placed by any player. The main difference between a sleeper straddle and a regular straddle is that a regular straddle is placed from under the gun (UTG) and is announced before the cards are dealt, while a sleeper straddle can be placed in any position and is made after the cards have been dealt.

A sleeper straddle is often placed in middle or late position, and the stake size is completely up to the player. Once the action reaches them, those players who have not yet spoken may choose to fold, call, or raise the amount of the sleeper straddle.
