In the game of poker, the term "belly buster" refers to a specific type of inside straight draw. It is a nickname for the inside straight draw holding, which means that the player is one card away from completing a straight, but the missing card is in the middle of the sequence, rather than at one end. The belly buster is also commonly known as a "gutshot" straight draw. It does not have to be specifically a double belly buster, which refers to a hand in which a player has two overlapping inside straight draws.

The phrase belly buster denotes the need for the card in the middle of the straight to bridge the space, as if it were doing so by filling the sequence's belly. Compared to an open-ended straight draw, which necessitates one card at each end of the straight, it is seen as a less frequent draw.
