Gambling disorder, also known as compulsive gambling, is the urge to continue gambling despite the negative effects it has on your life. Gambling is the act of risking something valuable in the pursuit of something even more valuable.

Gambling can stimulate the brain's reward system much like drugs or alcohol can, leading to addiction. If you have a problem with compulsive gambling, you may continually chase bets that lead to losses, use up savings and create debt. You may hide your behavior and even turn to theft or fraud to support your addiction.

A gambling disorder is a particular kind of disorder that somebody begins to exhibit unusual behaviour towards gambling. This might be true obsession with a particular market or simply addiction with gambling with money.
