Late surrender is an optional rule in blackjack which allows players to surrender their hand and forfeit half their bet after the dealer has checked for blackjack. This is different from early surrender, which allows players to surrender their hand and forfeit half their bet before the dealer has checked for blackjack. Late surrender is not as common as early surrender, and is not offered at all online blackjack casinos.

When the player sees the dealer's hole card in various blackjack variants, they have the option to last surrender and earn half of their wager back, but only if the dealer does not have a natural blackjack to boot.
