What is low fret?

Low fret in roulette is a term used to describe a fret that is slightly lower than the others in a roulette wheel. This can be caused by mishandling during wheel maintenance, and it can have an effect on the wheel’s randomness. Low frets cause a bias that gives preference to particular numbers, making it easier for a skilled player to take advantage of the wheel. There are ways to address the issue, such as replacing the separator with an adjustable pocket ring, but this is usually not done frequently

A roulette wheel is said to have a low fret bias if one or more of the frets are arranged so that there is a little dip or space between the fret and the wheelhead. When the ball hits close to or on that specific fret, the behavior of the ball may be affected by this gap.
