What is pass line bet?

The pass line bet is the basic bet in craps. It pays even money and has a low house edge, giving you a fair shake.

On the come-out roll, if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, you win. If they roll 2, 3, or 12, you lose. Any other number is the "point."

After a point's set, if the shooter rolls the point number again before a 7, you win. If they roll a 7 first, you lose.

So you win right away on 7/11 or when the point's made again; and lose on 2/3/12 or 7-out. Easy, right? It's a great bet for starters but also loved by pros since the odds are so close to even. Give it a shot and enjoy when Lady Luck's on your side!

Overall, the pass line bet has a low house edge of about 1.41%, meaning that over time, the casino may anticipate keeping about 1.41% of all pass line wagers. In the near term, though, anything is possible, and a single roll of the dice has the potential to result in either a substantial financial gain or loss.
