Semi-bluffing in poker is when you bluff with a hand that has the potential to improve on the next card, but even if it doesn't, you still have a chance of winning the pot with a bluff.

A semi-bluff is different from a pure bluff because in a semi-bluff you have some equity in the hand, meaning you have a chance of making a winning hand even if your opponents don't fold. This is particularly useful when you have a drawing hand like an open-ended straight draw or a flush draw.

Semi bluffing is a technique that goes under the radar and is not sometimes spotted by other poker players. This is what makes it so effective in its operation. This is a skill that more gamblers should learn

Your semi-bluff bet size needs to be properly thought out. It need to be substantial enough to make it unprofitable for your rivals to call with inferior hands, but not too sizable that it becomes an expensive gamble. Along with the pot size, the size of your stake should account for the possibility that your rivals will fold.
