The Hi-Opt II card counting system is a more advanced method used in blackjack to track the ratio of high to low cards remaining in the deck. It assigns specific values to different cards: low cards (2, 3, 4, 6, and 7) are worth +1, while 10-point cards and Aces are valued at 0, and cards 8 and 9 are worth -1. As the game progresses, the player keeps a running count based on these values, and when the count is positive, it indicates a deck rich in high cards, which benefits the player. To get a more accurate advantage, the player also calculates the "true count" by adjusting the running count for the number of remaining decks. While the system is more precise than simpler methods, it requires greater concentration and practice, as well as an ability to estimate the number of decks left in the shoe. The Hi-Opt II system offers a refined strategy, but it is more complex and demanding than other counting methods.
