I have been coming across some players who had been complaining bitterly to me that they have been longing to quit gambling but they found it abortive. I used to tell them that the decision to leave gambling lies in how decisive they are. That until they are able to fight their compulsive addiction before they would be able to quit gambling. This scenario is what most players undergo. Many had tried but unsuccessful. I knew of a player who has consulted therapists, yet he is still indulging in gambling.
Pls, kindly advise the best way to quit gambling.

Thank you for sharing your concern about the challenge many players face when trying to quit gambling. Quitting gambling can be a difficult task, especially for those struggling with compulsive behavior or addiction. However, there are some strategies that can help.

One of the first and most important steps towards quitting gambling is admitting that you have a problem and acknowledging the impact gambling has on your life. It is essential to recognize that gambling is no longer something that you control, but rather, something that controls you.

Another effective approach is seeking support from professionals and loved ones. Consider consulting a therapist or a support group, such as Gamblers Anonymous, which offers a safe and confidential space for people struggling with gambling addiction. It is essential to have a support system that can help you through the process of quitting gambling, offer guidance, and keep you accountable.

Developing healthy habits and hobbies can also be an helpful aspect in quitting gambling. Finding new interests and activities that make you happy and relives stress can reduce the urges to gamble and provide a positive outlet for emotion.

Finally, having realistic expectations when it comes to quitting gambling, but persistently continuing to work towards it is also key. It is important to stay determined and committed to the process of quitting gambling, even when it feels challenging.

Overall, quitting gambling is not easy, but it is possible. It takes self-awareness, a strong support system, and persistence. Do not give up, and do not hesitate to seek help when you need it.
