Let It Ride and five card stud are two popular variations of poker. The main difference between the two games is that in Let It Ride, the player is dealt three cards and must use the combination of these three cards to make the best possible 5-card hand. In five card stud, the player is dealt one card at a time and must use the combination of these five cards to make the best possible 5-card hand.In Let It Ride, the player can choose to withdraw one of the three initial bets made if they feel they may not make a winning hand with the five cards they are dealt. This is not an option in five card stud. Another difference is that in Let It Ride, only one player will be competing against the house, while in five card stud, players are competing against one another.

Only the community cards and the players' three cards are visible to players in Let It Ride. Their choices of whether to cancel wagers or let them ride may be influenced by the little information available. Players in Five Card Stud can see some of their opponents' cards as well as their own.
