The Illustrious 18 is a set of eighteen variations of the blackjack basic strategy which were invented by Don Schlesinger. These variations are based on the Hi-Lo counting system and are used to gain an advantage over the house by counting cards. The Illustrious 18 helps the player make the right decisions in certain specific situations and can be used to maximize profits. It includes plays such as standing on a 16 against a dealer's 10 when the count is 0 or higher, splitting 8s against a dealer's 6 or lower, and doubling down on an 11 against a dealer's 2.
