Folded hands can't win you money, so don't fold too often as a beginner. However, calling too much with weak hands will drain your stack quickly. I recommend a fold-to-call ratio of around 2:1 or 3:1 for beginners - this means for every 2 or 3 folds, make 1 call. Fold hands with no draw potential but call when you hit any part of the flop or have at least a pair. Raise only selective premium hands like pocket pairs or strong ace-xxxx at the beginning. Take thenitially and tighten up your game as you gain more experience reading opponents. Folded hands can't profit you, so fold less but call wisely in the early stages.
