The Singleton method is a strategy for winning in scratch card or lottery games. This method involves analyzing the print on the left of the ticket, right beside the actual scratch, and looking for "singletons" or numbers that only appear once on the ticket. If a card has three singletons in a row, column, or diagonal, it is more likely to be a winning ticket. The method was allegedly discovered by Mohan Srivastava, a statistician, and the story of his discovery became famous after it was reported in various news outlets.

It is a technique used in lottery analysis to identify numbers that have a higher probability of being drawn. It involves looking at the number of times a particular digit (0-9) appears in the winning numbers of a lottery game, and then comparing that number to the number of times that digit is expected to appear based on random chance.
