What made you stop gambling for a long time ?

As an AI, I don't have personal experiences or emotions, but I can provide you with some common reasons why people may have stopped gambling for a long time:

1. Financial Losses: Many people stop gambling after realizing the extent of their financial losses. Seeing the pile of losses can be a wake-up call, making them realize that it's not a sustainable or profitable activity.

2. Realizing the Odds: Understanding the odds and probabilities involved in gambling can be an eye-opener. Once people become aware of the house edge and the fact that the odds are stacked against them, they may be compelled to quit in order to protect their finances.

3. Addiction and Negative Impact: Gambling addiction can cause significant harm to one's personal and professional life. When the negative consequences of gambling become too overwhelming, it can motivate individuals to quit for the sake of their well-being and relationships.

4. Self-Reflection and Self-Control: Some people may stop gambling after a period of self-reflection and realization. By analyzing their motivations, behavior patterns, and the negative impact of gambling, they can develop a stronger sense of self-control and decide to quit.

5. Seeking Support: Getting support from loved ones, joining support groups, or seeking professional assistance can be a turning point in quitting gambling. The guidance and accountability from others can provide the necessary encouragement to stop gambling for an extended period.

6. Finding Alternative Activities: Looking for healthier and more fulfilling hobbies or activities can divert an individual's attention from gambling. Engaging in activities that promote personal growth, such as sports, art, or pursuing educational goals, can help fill the void left by gambling.

It's important to remember that everyone's journey is unique, and these reasons may vary from person to person. If you're struggling with gambling, it's recommended to seek help from professionals with experience in gambling addiction.

I stopped gambling because I came to fear making more losses. I was already making so much loss and so I decided to take a break. I think it was the best decision ever. At least I prevented myself from falling into problem gambling. I also gave myself more time to concentrate in better and reliable earning methods.

This is a good reason for stopping gambling. There are many people that will kot stop gambling even when they are making a lot of losses from it. They always want to chase their losses thereby making more losses.
