When the dealer is showing a 5, I like to just hit depending on my initial two cards. If I'm below 12 or so, I'll definitely hit hoping for a better total. If I already have 16 or more, I'll likely just stand pat since the dealer likely has to hit and I already have a good chance at winning my bet. A dealer upcard of 5 isn't super beneficial to either the player or dealer, so I tend to just play my two initial hole cards and decide to hit or stand accordingly.
