What's the difference between the come bet and the place bet?

The come bet and place bet have different payoffs andodds in the game of craps. The come bet pays even money but the house edge is higher compared to the place bet which pays more than the amount wagered but with a lower house advantage. In my opinion, the place bet is a better option because of the lower casino edge, though the come bet allows you to bet with the roll of the dice which some players prefer.

Following the come-out roll, the come bet is placed, and the outcome is determined by consecutive rolls. Place bets, on the other hand, are made before to the roll of the dice and depend on the outcome of the subsequent roll to decide whether the bet wins or loses.

The come bet is placed on the come line, which is a section of the craps table located between the pass line and the don't pass line. The come bet wins if the next roll of the dice is 7 or 11, and it loses if the next roll is 2, 3, or 12. If the next roll is any other number, that number becomes the come point, and the come bet will win if the come point is rolled before a 7.
