I can assure you that there is no 'common' or favorite number selected. Each person at the table chooses their cards by gut instinct alone.
While some may gravitate towards the higher numbers in the deck, reasoning them to be 'due' to come up, or select low numbers under the misguided belief they are ' cold ' cards, the truth is randomness rules the deal. The shuffle and cut of the cards determines their sequence, not the whims of the players.
Numbers hold no advantage or meaning at the poker table, much as superstitions and stubborn beliefs would have one think otherwise. The cards, they fall as they may.
