A player is pot committed in poker when they have invested a significant portion of their stack into the pot, and it would be too costly to fold their hand. This often occurs when the player has already committed a large portion of their stack and their expected value is negative, but they continue to stay in the hand. Pot commitment can also occur when a player has invested so much that their only option is to stay in the hand and hope for the best.

A poker player is considered pot committed when they have already invested enough chips into the pot that it would be irrational for them to fold. Essentially, they have crossed the point of no return with their chip stack.
