Just last week, Moises Caceido transfered to Chelsea from Brighton for £110 million being a British record transfer. And he came in on his debut at 60 minutes with his team trailing 2:1. His first action in the match led to his team conceding a penalty which was scored and sealed the game for West Ham.

Is that the worst possible debut a player can ever have? Or are there worse debuts you know? Share with us.

While Moises Caceido's debut with Chelsea didn't go as planned, it's important to remember that a single game does not define a player's entire career. However, when it comes to discussing the worst debuts in football history, there are certainly a few others that stand out.

One notable example is Jonathan Woodgate's debut for Real Madrid in 2005. After joining the club from Newcastle United, Woodgate made his first appearance in a cup match against Athletic Bilbao. Unfortunately, things quickly turned sour as he scored an own goal and was later sent off, leaving Real Madrid with a 3-2 loss.

Another infamous debut was made by Ali Dia, who famously tricked Graeme Souness into giving him a chance at Southampton in 1996. Dia was recommended to Souness as a former Senegal international and cousin of George Weah, but he turned out to be completely out of his depth. After coming on as a substitute, Dia provided a lackluster performance and was substituted himself just 20 minutes later.

In terms of high-profile transfers, Bebe's debut for Manchester United in 2010 is often mentioned. Signed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Bebe arrived at Old Trafford with limited professional experience. During his debut against Wolves, he struggled to make an impact and was eventually substituted at halftime.

While these are just a few examples, it's worth noting that many players have experienced tough debuts throughout history. It's important to give players time to settle and adapt to their new environments before passing judgments on their abilities based solely on one match.

There are many such debuts that is very difficult to pin point one particular debuts. One of the worst i can vividly remember is when Chelsea bought Fernandez Torres at a whooping price of 60 million pounds then and he manage to score only three goals in one season. It is quite unfortunate for Torres.

This was quite different given that it was for the stretch of one season. I am even talking about the one that it is your first match for a new club and you deliver some blunders that makes your team almost lose or actually lose the match. David De Gea in his first match which was a community shield final, he wanted to pick a bag pass unchallenged. The ball slipped through his hands in between his legs and rolled into the goal. That's example of a poor debut
