The international break for Brentford arrived at the perfect time in the season to give the team time to reflect and identify exactly what went wrong in recent months. Thomas Frank's team has only won two of their previous ten league matches, failing to score in four of those contests despite a strong start and a convincing 2-1 away victory at the Etihad on the final round of Premier League play before Qatar. To complicate things worse, Brentford lost two and drew one of their three friendlies this month, and they were humiliatingly eliminated by Gillingham from the EFL Cup. The Bees are not playing Tottenham in the best of moods, as one may infer from their lack of success.
