Manchester United will attempt to maintain their recent winning streak as they face a Nottingham Forest team that had a respectable run of success prior to the break. Before splitting, Forest had won their previous two games, with their lone victory coming at home against Crystal Palace in the league. Upon returning to competitive play, they were able to keep up their winning ways with a convincing 4-1 road win over Blackburn to progress to the EFL Cup quarterfinals. Nottingham Forest's earlier victory over Palace was a big success since it moved them up the table, into 18th place, and within one point of safety.
