This week, Ligue 1 resumes play, and our highlighted match will take place on Thursday night at the Stade Velodrome between Marseille and Toulouse. This year, Marseille had their best-ever start to a league campaign and, for a time, it appeared as though they may challenge PSG for the Ligue 1 championship. With European Cup football, their form abruptly fell down, and the multitude of fixtures seemed to overwhelm them. Before the World Cup break, Marseille began to regain their form after being eliminated from the Champions League, winning back-to-back games against stern competition at Lyon and Monaco.
