Who likes playing short deck?

Short deck poker ain’t for me, that’s for sure! No self-respecting poker player likes being dealt fewer cards. It just makes the game harder, tighter, and more complicated. More indecision, more bluffing, and more math required.

I like poker simple, with a full deck. Play the best starting hands, expand your thinking tree, and make decisions that feel instinctive. That’s how you crush at this game, by keeping things straightforward. Short deck adds too much uncertainty for my tastes. Every hand becomes a puzzle to solve, instead of playing based on raw positions, opportunities and player dynamics.

No, I’ll stick to Texas hold ‘em, Omaha and 7-card stud. Leave the crazy micro-limit short deck variants to the fuse-burning math whizzes in the Felt. My poker genius was meant for simpler games where a full house is still a full house, regardless of how many cards you’re dealt!
