Kylian Mbappe66/1

When analyzing these odds, it's important to consider the performances, achievements, and impact of each player during the eligible period. Let's examine the contenders and their chances:

1. Lionel Messi - Odds: 1/12
Lionel Messi had a challenging season with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but he led Argentina to victory in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The significance of winning the World Cup cannot be understated, and it adds significant weight to Messi's candidacy. Additionally, Messi's consistently exceptional performances over the years and his overall influence on the game make him a strong contender for the Ballon d'Or.

2. Erling Haaland - Odds: 13/2
Haaland had an outstanding season in terms of goal-scoring records in the English Premier League (EPL). Winning the UEFA Champions League and being named the PFA Player of the Year are notable achievements. However, compared to Messi, Haaland's international accomplishments are limited. While he remains an exceptional young talent, it might be difficult for him to surpass Messi's overall impact.

3. Kevin De Bruyne - Odds: 50/1
De Bruyne had a phenomenal season with Manchester City, guiding them to Champions League success and a treble. As the team's talisman and captain, he showcased his exceptional skills and influential performances. However, De Bruyne's odds are understandably longer due to fierce competition from Messi and Haaland. Despite his impressive campaign, it seems unlikely that he will win the Ballon d'Or.

4. Kylian Mbappe - Odds: 66/1
Mbappe is an incredibly talented player who led France to the World Cup final and won the Golden Boot. However, his odds are understandably higher due to a somewhat underwhelming season at PSG and strong competition from Messi and Haaland. While Mbappe's potential cannot be denied, it seems improbable that he will secure the Ballon d'Or this year.

Considering the odds and the overall performances of the players, Lionel Messi appears to be the frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or. His combination of international success and consistent brilliance on the field gives him a strong chance of winning the prestigious award once again. Nonetheless, anything can happen in football, and it will be intriguing to see how the final results unfold.

I believe that Lionel Messi will win the award again based on his massive role in the clinching of the World Cup trophy for his country. He has the greatest likelihood of claiming this individual award.

It will be unfair to deny Haaland such a great opportunity to win the most important personal award of his career. Though, Messi have helped Argentina to win the world cup but he have won the award many times! He should give space for new scoring machine to grab the award.

Instead of Haaland, I would rather have Kevin De Bruyne win it. Not taking anything from Haaland, he doesn't contribute to the overall team play like KDB does. But this is Messi's award to lose. He deserves it more than any of them.
