Why are poker players called slackers?

Folks call poker players slackers cause we aim to live a carefree life in the high stakes game. We sleep in, play all night, wake up at noon still in our smoky casino clothes. When there ain’t a game to play, we lounge the day away jawin’ and sharin’ stories.

We see the world as our playground and each pot as a chance to chase lady luck. Hard work’s for suckers, cards is our job and this life of leisure our reward for outthinkin’ the other players. Sleep when you’re dead, that’s what I always say. Some call us degenerates but we just call it living our best life as professional gamblers. That’s why they call us slackers.
