Initially, the word croupier referred to the person who stood behind a player to back them up with extra cash during the betting session. The word’s meaning gradually evolved, and its current usage is that of a casino representative, i.e. a call man in the context of baccarat, who is in charge of overseeing the game and announcing the results of the coups. Why is this term, then, shouted at a baccarat table so much if their duty is mainly to ensure smooth proceedings?

In every game there Is always a misunderstanding at the end of it, whether it directly or indirectly. There are this set of "coupier" that each team will have.

Oh, OK, I understand a little more. The croupier tries to assist the player at the baccarat table and tries to do whatever possible to aid that player in winning a round or the game as a whole.

Croupiers are shouted at in baccarat tables because it is a tradition in the game. The shouts are usually in the form of encouragement or congratulations, and they are meant to create a sense of excitement and energy at the table. There are a few reasons why this tradition started. One reason is that baccarat is a very fast-paced game, and the shouts help to keep the tempo up.

The dealer announces the conclusion of the betting round by saying this out loud and clearly in order to avoid any misunderstandings or arguments among the players about when bets were accepted. It is a requirement of casino etiquette and ritual.
